Community of Mission Viejo, California

The city has small light-industrial sites placed throughout but is largely residential. It features residences from apartments and condominiums to palatial homes with large lots and lake or mountain views. Also within the city is a world-class regional shopping mall, a 2-year Junior College, a private lake, a hospital and multiple parks/recreation facilities.
Mission Viejo tauts nearly 2 parks per square mile and is home to 3 golf courses. Terrific equestrian facilities, riding trails, and even rodeos are close by in bordering communities of Lake Forest, Coto de Caza and San Juan Capistrano.
Lake Mission Viejo was created for recreational use by residents and is formed by an earthfill dam across the canyon of Oso Creek, which is part of the Trabuco and San Juan creeks drainage basin. The lake is fed by water from the Colorado River system. It features 2 beaches with lifeguards, one at each end of the lake, and it is annually stocked with fish. There are smaller, private beaches adjacent to some of the residence areas. The facility rents various types of peddle, sail and pontoon boats. They also frequently host great concerts with name-brand performancs on the main beach in Summer!
